[opensuse] opensuse 11.4 cinelerra update mjpegtools19 dependency problem
All, Until recently all cinelerra updates have gone fine. With the present update in packman, there is a dependency issue with mjpegtools that is significant. The specifics are: 18:29 alchemy:~> cat cinelerra-conflicts.txt #### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2012-01-13 18:28:49 #### cinelerra-2.2cv20111114-8.1.x86_64 requires mjpegtools19, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: mjpegtools19-1.9.0.0-14.2.i586[ftp.uni-erlangen.de-suse] mjpegtools19-1.9.0.0-14.2.x86_64[ftp.uni-erlangen.de-suse] [ ] do not install cinelerra-2.2cv20111114-8.1.x86_64 [ ] Following actions will be done: deinstallation of mjpegtools-2.0.0-36.1.x86_64 deinstallation of dvdshrink-2.6.1-10.3.noarch deinstallation of tovid-0.34-1.3.noarch deinstallation of dvdwizard-0.7.0-3.16.noarch deinstallation of dvd-slideshow-0.8.4-1.3.noarch deinstallation of dvdrip-0.98.11-5.3.x86_64 deinstallation of mandvd-2.6-3.3.x86_64 deinstallation of ldvd-2.0.2-5.3.x86_64 deinstallation of ogmrip-mpeg-0.2-3.3.x86_64 deinstallation of DVDStyler-2.0.1-1.5.x86_64 deinstallation of qdvdauthor-2.1.0cvs-5.21.x86_64 deinstallation of kdvdauth-0.9.2-2.2.x86_64 deinstallation of lxdvdrip-1.77-1.1.x86_64 [ ] do not install cinelerra-2.2cv20111114-8.1.x86_64 [ ] break cinelerra by ignoring some of its dependencies Has anyone else run into this or found a workaround? It appears all other packages have moved to mjpegtools 2. What is strange here is that the currently installed cinelerra-2.2cv20111114-7.5 is happily installed an using mjpegtools-2.0.0-36.1.x86_64. Is this a regression? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi David, I saw the conflicts you've described. When I saw them I postponed looking at the update until later. I've since been too busy to look at it again. I'll definitely be following this thread! ;-) Thx! Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Carl, Yah, I thought this would simply be a lead/lag situation where mjpegtools jumped forward and it would take a few days for cinelerra to catch up, but that doesn't appear to be the case. As mentioned in the original post, cinelerra-2.2cv20111114-7.5 worked fine with mjpegtools2, but now the current cinelerra refuses to install with mjpegtools2 demanding instead mjpegtools_1.9. I think this has got to be a regression in cinelerra or with the folks building cinelerra at packman. -- David C.
