Greetings to all. Recently, a SuSEr posted "I achieved faxing nirvana by using the wonderful efax suite....but StarOffice can save to a PS file." Please, kindly explain that to me, because my StarOffice-5.2 (coming with SuSE-7.3), does not seem able to save a file "as PS" (or TIFFS, for that matter). TIA -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast.

Do not "save as" to a postscript file. Instead "print" -> "print to file" as a postscript file. -- Ralph Sanford - If your government does not trust you, rsanford@telusplanet.net - should you trust your government? DH/DSS Key - 0x7A1BEA01

Ralph, It may be the phase of the moon or something, but I'm getting dense... In Konqueror, there are, besides other choices, a "Print To File (PostScript)", but in StarOffice, I don't see it. Would you kindly spell out from A to Z, how to do it? I know how to fax using plain text, but the file I must fax has very special format, originally created in MS Word and since long modified and embellished in S.O.-5.2. Thanks. -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast.

Been using Openoffice and SO6 so much I had forgotten that SO 5.2 was not as automatic. But it is still pretty easy.
From your work file in SO 5.2 select File -> Print. Check the print to file box. A "save as" window will open up. Select the directory that you want the postscript file saved to, then give the file a *.ps name i.e. myfile.ps
Now you are done. -- Ralph Sanford - If your government does not trust you, rsanford@telusplanet.net - should you trust your government? DH/DSS Key - 0x7A1BEA01

Ralph, As I read your reply, my thought was, "I'll believe it when I see it." I've seen it, and I believe it! Amazing! It's contrary to logic, but it works! Thanks! -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast.
