[opensuse] Opera mail - fix for replies including sender's email in body of reply
Listmates; To prevent opera from including the e-mail address of the original sender in the body of each e-mail or newsgroup reply or followup, you must edit two files. The first is ~/.opera/mail/accounts.ini and the second is your language file found in /usr/share/opera/locale/english.lng or under the specific country /usr/share/opera/locale/de/deutsch.lng for example. If you do not also modify the language file, your changes to accounts.ini will be overwritten each time opers starts or exits. For reply and follow up templates, opera makes use of three variables: %n name %e email %f name and email In ~/.opera/mail/accounts.ini, you will find a line in each account definition that looks like this: Reply=On %:Date:, %f wrote: Change it to read: Reply=On %:Date:, %n wrote: In your language file, you will find two lines that need changing. They look like: -740066405="On %:Date:, %f wrote:" Make the same change so it looks like: -740066405="On %:Date:, %n wrote:" **Note: in your favorite editor, just open the file and do a replace of %f to %n works for both files Now your replies and forwards won't aggravate the original sender by posting their e-mail address all over public sites for spammers to easily collect (I know it doesn't solve the header problem, but it reduces the number of occurrences and removes it from the body) Of course if your replying to your enemy.... -- David C.
