Questions about Suse for ISP
Hi Gang- I have been evaluating Suse, Red Hat and Mandrake the last two weeks to determine the best one for our new servers at an ISP I just started working at. I have a few questions though for the groups thoughts...... 1)I am thinking that Exim is the mail server I want to use. Anyone using this? I have several thousand user accounts that I must find a way to get off of a BSDI Unix system to Linux and one of the ways of avoiding adding each user by hand is to use Exim so I could have a MySQL table for email and radius. 2)Has anyone installed the mod_ssl package and had it work or am I missing a step? 3)Do you let Suse install Apache/PHP and the like or do you compile from source? Thanks for your time! -Scott

The Apache install seems to be fine, everthing works or can be changed. PHP is a different matter. I need to add the Interbase module, but I havn't worked out out how to compile it on SUSE. That said, all the basic stuff worked 'out of the box' so as long as you don't need to go exotic that should be fine from the disk. -- Lester Caine ----------------------------- L.S.Caine Electronic Services
