DumbQuestion::KernelUpgrade
Dear all, I currently have SuSE 6.4, kernel 2.2.14, but need kernel 2.2.16 at least to install some utils, such as the ov511 drivers for my USB webcam. The questions are: a) which RPM(s) should I download from ftp.suse.com if I have a K6-II system with APM support? b) how do I upgrade from kernel 2.2.14 to 2.2.16? Please, keep in mind that it should be possible to revert to the 2.2.14 kernel if something goes wrong... Thanks, Martin

The kernel 2.2.16 that's available on ftp.suse.com/pub/update (dated July 2000) has a bug of not reading multisession CDs. SuSE fixed the bug later, but I guess didn't change the rpm available for download. That's why I'm still using 2.2.14 kernel. Anybody with different experience? -Kastus
