YaST and qt3 are now working...:)--8.2
Just a heads up for those who have updated to a later qt3 and found out it causes a problem with YaST Install and Remove module. I updated the other night with apt-get/Synaptic, and had the suse-people in my source.list, and there was a qt3-3.2.0b1 update available. This fixes the YaST issue. I realize this is a beta version, but wanted to pass on the good news. It has worked well for me so far. BTW, is there any way to figure out who put out the package? I'd like to let them know that this version fixes the YaST problem introduced by the 3.1 updates for 8.2. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Hello, ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.2-i386/RPMS.suse-people/ is where you can get it, but as far as I am concerened there were no problems with crashing but just that it kept asking you if you wanted to proceed or discard changes. Sven

Sven I used apt-get with the default repositories given in the SuSE apt HowTo. Synaptic 26 does an ok job of installing/upgrading selective files although it has some quirks. ra

I do not need it for selective packages, that I can do on my own, I needed it for KDE and XFree and that is where it skrewed up. I always had problems with Yast2 packages that needed packages either more recent or older than I had, but never the versions that I could find. Anyway, KDE comes in the Suse supplementary and anything else is done manually, actually there is not that much else for me. I guess it is a matter of personal taste really. Sven

ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.2-i386/RPMS.suse-people/ is one place if you don't use apt. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
