Hi All When I installed Open Office in Linux I installed it in the wrong place like /home and /usr/local and then it would not run correct, so I deleted the files.
then when reinstalling put it in /opt instead off /opt/openoffice, I was in hurry and made a mistake
so then I deleted the files to start the install again, now when I start the install it says it is all ready installed and to run the files I deleted
How can I start over fresh, it seems the only way to fix it is too alter the system registry.
System Registry? Linux don't have that flaw as far as I know. :-) Anyway, look in the home directory of the user you used to install OpenOffice with. There should be a file .sversionrc Or just search your while system for that file. This file indicates which OpenOffice or StarOffice is installed and where for that user. Delete this file or remove the invalid lines from it. Then you should be able to install again -- Andre Truter Software Engineer Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 AIM: trusoftzaf http://www.trusoft.za.net <-------------------------------------------------> < The box said: Requires Windows 95 or better... > < So I installed Linux > <-------------------------------------------------> -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com ------------------------------------------------------- -- From Eric (KMail 1.4.3 in Linux, SuSE 8.1) http://www.oh-bugger.net.nz http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/erichard/ NO ATTACHMENT WAS SENT WITH THIS EMAIL IF THERE IS ONE IT IS A UNDETECTED VIRUS, IF THERE IS ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW ....
