Hi all, I am seeing a peculiar problem/bug lately with X on my machine. I say it is X, but it could be associated with KDE as well. First my graphics setup: ATi Radeon 7200 AGP 4 (SiS 735 chipset) 19" AOC Spectrum 9klr monitor 1280 x 1024 16bit resolution I usually only see this happen from a cold boot, but have seen it, very rarely, happen going from say Gnome interface back to KDE. The screen seems to go into a different resolution, higher, because the onscreen fonts change from say a 10 or 12 point font to a 8 or 6 point. Things are just smaller. I check my XServer readings during these periods and find that my dpi is normally 90 x 96 dpi, but when in the "other" resolution they are 75 x 75 dpi. That seems to be the only difference in the settings that I can see. Just for reference too, with another system I have setup using a Radeon 8500 & 19" monitor set at 1280x1024 16bit, the settings are 75x75dpi. What are some of you seeing with your graphics with settings similar? Any thoughts? Anyone else experienced such an anomaly? Buglet in the X server, XFree86 or KDE? Thanks for any enlightenment you can give. Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4.1 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206
