Dear SuSE users: I would like to make a catalog of my CD collection. This catalog should include the CD title, artist, record company, catalog number etc, possibly with track titles an lenghts. Tellico (formerly bookcase) looks a really neat catalog program to create catalogs of books, music etc. However one need to add the entries into tellico's database by hand. My question is if there is a program that can get the cddb or freedb entries and store them in a way that can be used to import them in tellico or ANY OTHER catalog software. Or is there a program that can collect the data from the freedb or cddb and after that the database is searchable and visible locally without using the CD itself? No you don't. Put a CD into your drive. Goto File ==> Import ==> "Import Audio CD Data". Charles -- "If a machine couldn't run a free operating system, we got rid of it." -- Richard Stallman (Open Sources, 1999 O'Reilly and Associates)

Thanks, it works. Could you tell me please how to configure tellico where to get the CD data from? Under settings/ configure/data sources panel I found only databases for books. It defaults to using freedb. I believe it uses the setup in kscd. Charles -- "Never make any mistaeks." (Anonymous, in a mail discussion about to a kernel bug report.)
