RE: [SLE] YAST install from local directory no longer works
Didn't think about that - I'll give it a try... Thanks, Mike -------------------------------------------------------- Cleary_Mike@emc.com -------------------------------------------------------- Windows is better for games; otherwise, you're better off using an actual operating system. -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Secareanu [mailto:dsecareanu@linux360.ro] Sent: Friday, March 05, 2004 9:53 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] YAST install from local directory no longer works Setup an ftp server locally and use it as a ftp install source... This might work... (I actually use this within my LAN). Daniel Cleary_Mike@emc.com wrote:
SuSE 9.0, KDE 3.2, default 2.4 kernel.
If I enable a local directory install source, and I then choose either "Install and Remove Software" or "System Update", the "reading package information" screen appears, and after about 10 seconds it closes. And that's it. Yast won't go any further. However, online update still works just fine. But I can't install anything from a directory , or even my SuSE DVD. If I disable the local directory install source, then Yast will install from the DVD, etc.
