Right now I'm running SuSE 8.2 with SA 2.5. I noticed there is a 2.55-75 for SuSE 9. Does anyone think there would be a problem installing the later on 8.2?
Thanks, Tom
Tried it, had issues. I seem to recall it had to do with the version of Perl that 2.55 (or was it 2.6?) was written against. But, that was before the flu and the holidays, so my recollection may be fuzzy. HTH, Geordon

Not written against but, lacking a better word, "compiled" against. Just rebuild from source rpm and you will be fine. I myself am using SA 2.6 on SuSE Linux 8.1- time to upgrade. Charles -- "However, complexity is not always the enemy." -- Larry Wall (Open Sources, 1999 O'Reilly and Associates)

How do I rebuild a source rpm?
This is the way that I do it, since I like to keep the rpm for while:
(1) Install the source rpm
(2) Go to /usr/src/packages/spec and you will find a spec file for SA
(3) Now compile the rpm by using the command:
rpm -bb
