On older or weaker machines it can take a while for the KDE environment to load. Have you given it time to start? -- Q: How many IBM types does it take to change a light bulb? A: 100. Ten to do it, and 90 to write document number GC7500439-0001, Multitasking Incandescent Source System Facility, of which 10% of the pages state only "This page intentionally left blank", and 20% of the definitions are of the form "A ...... consists of sequences of non-blank characters separated by blanks". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

you can add it via yast2 -> system -> bootloader -> edit add "nomodeset" (w/o "s) to "Optional Kernel Command Line Parameter" or from cl: yast -> system -> bootloader -> edit and as above -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have you got a Radeon Mobility graphics card in your machine? Mine eventually only boots to a CLI login with 12.1 but it work fine with 11.4. It also fails with the Tumbleweed repo. On Saturday 03 Dec 2011 14:21:23 Gunnar wrote:
