OT: SuSE doing badly in poll
Sorry for the OT post but I feel as the users of SLE we could at least help the poll. What is the problem? If you're switching from Red Hat, closest distros to RH in term of compatibility are Fedora and Mandrake. Then Debian, which is a community project and it has never sold its soul to the corporate devils. So, SuSE is holding the rightful fourth place as a distro which sold its independence. Alex

Times change, and i haven't looked lately, but, if RH is still mostly LSB conforming, then SuSE is the closest to RH, and RH->SuSE is a move in the right direction. [snip] I have to say, I criticize the SuSE Linux distribution a lot. That is as in 'critique'. As in, here's how to make it better. I find it inappropriate to use SuSE's mailing list to deride the company. I didn't like to see SuSE bought out. Independence is a good thing, usually. I'm sure there were reasons for the decisions made by SuSE management. Now that it is a done deal, I accept it, and work with it. If I decided I wanted to move to a different distro, I would quietly move on.
