Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Installation direct from SuSE's servers
josh, there are several ways to install packages from S.u. S.E.'s ftp site. - You can download your desired .rpm file to you local disk and the install it by: *typing 'rpm -i downloaded_file.rpm' *using xrpm - You can also make a "hot" ftp install, I mean, directly from S.u.S.E.'s ftp site. Just run Yast, go to "choose/install packages", then to "Install packages". Once there, select your source install medium (ftp) and point to ftp.suse.com/pub/SuSE-Linux. Go to the directory where your desired package is and select it (by pressing the space bar) (you can select several ones). Then press F10 to start. Yast will download the package(s) to /tmp, will install them and remove them when finished. Hope it helps! :-) Carlos Betancourt CETI-UNET Venezuela -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
