[opensuse] Opensuse Leap 42.4 upgrade PHP 5.5.14 to 5.6
Hi, I'm running Opensuse Leap42.2 (kernel 4.4.49-16-default x86_64) and php 5.5.14. Is there an easy way to upgrade to php 5.6 including all the extensions? is there repo that can do this automatically? Thanks. Suddenly it becomes actual -- 've tried to install Nexcloud from /server:/php:/application repo. It brings LAMP on its dependencies, but, after installation is OK, 127.0.0.1/nextcloud request in browser returns: "This version of Nextcloud requires at least PHP 5.6.0. You are currently running 5.5.14. Please update your PHP version." error-message. 'll be thankful for advice here. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Then it tries to download php-file on 127.0.0.1/nextcloud. I think it'll be good, if maitainers repack LAMP-pattern with php7 by default. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. I'm fully aware of the php7 upgrade but I absolutely need php 5.6 and the 5.6 extensions. Is there a repo that I can point at so that I can get php5.6? Thanks. Yes, try: zypper ar -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/php/openSUSE_Lea... Then update your php5, you will have to change the vendor: zypper up -r devel_languages_php php5

I missed this one, sorry, so I don't know the author I do need php7, but in parallel with php5, is that possible? (I have to test some scripts with php7) thanks (13.1 or 42.2, any of them) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Not with these repos. You could switch to php7 for the test, and then switch back. Or more easily, create a virtual machine for these tests. Use kvm, virtualbox, docker, lxc, ... whatever you are familiar with.
