[opensuse] 11.0/x86 - resuming...
I just installed 11.0/x86 on an old Gateway CURDLS Dual P3 board. The system has 1.25GB RAM and dual P3/1Ghz chips. I'm running an 80MB/s 18GB SCSI drive. I've noticed that sometimes it will show the following: resuming... resuming... resuming... resuming... resuming... etc. I don't see anything when I do a dmesg | tail I have power saving turned off in the BIOS. The only PCI card I have is a Promise SATA card with 2 SATA drives hooked up to it. Anyone have any ideas? It doesn't seem to affect the system. I'm just using it as a file server. This you typically get when you hibernate your system (i.e., suspend to disk), maybe also when suspending to RAM (I never use that). I disabled all power saving features prior to install. I know on my Dual P3/Xeon Dell that it always disabled apm since it wasn't spm safe, but that was on a 440GX chipset. I keep thinking I've seen this before but can't remember. I've disabled the onboard IDE since I'm using the onboard SCSI and SATA/PCI. Fortunately it doesn't seem to affect the system any. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Same thing happen on i586 boxes. You can easily see this in runlevel 3 by Alt+(left arrow) twice. I didn't think there was supposed to be anything on the other side of the system console, but I get one line that says: resuming... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
