Hmm, I've just talked with Hubert about this. It seems, that most of us just call it "Suse", which happens to be a a female name here in Germany. ;-) BTW: I have played with the Gimp a while ago. I am serious about this. I think the chameleon is a very recognizable symbol for S.u.S.E. linux. It probably doesn't hurt to have your brand name associated with an instantly recognizable image like that. I really would like to see tshirts or even polo shirts featuring the S.u.S.E chameleon. Something to keep in mind. Does anyone else agree with me?

These are very very cool Lenz. I'm adding them to my site after I finish reading my mail. I like the chameleon a whole lot better than that d****d penguin. All hail Linus and all that, but pour the penguin back in the cow and give me SuSE (Sooseh) the chameleon any day! I'd even go against my ordinary rule about wearing advertising (until the advertiser pays me) for a SuSE t-shirt... phil -- Michael Lankton wrote:

I glad someone is mentioning this, the S.u.S.E. t-shirts offered on the S.u.S.E site are way too "nerdish" for my tastes. Something exactly like the S.u.S.E t-shirts that the oarsmen featured in the V.A. research ad in the Linux Journal would be really cool, by the looks of the ad you can tell that they are not real, but pasted on by some pixel editing app. I wish S.u.S.E would offer something simular , a cool shirt for S.u.S.E user to show their "colors". The logos really kick some, but when I saw the file sizes I was shocked. 33kB for a tiny animation is a little bit too much I thought. Since I am a GIF SHAVER(TM) from way back I wanted to make those bandwidth busters a little bit smaller in size. With a lot of tweaking the animation is now about 6kB, without loosing quality. All the statics are less then half the size of the original. If you want the shaved versions go to : <URL:<A HREF="http://www.digital-mines.com/suse/suse_button.tgz"><A HREF="http://www.digital-mines.com/suse/suse_button.tgz</A">http://www.digital-mines.com/suse/suse_button.tgz</A</A>>> Lenz, I don't mind if you replace the ones you made with the smaller versions. urs -- u r s r o e s c h h a c h i o j i, t o k y o ---------------------------------------------------------- e# urs@digital-mines.com aim# uru uru 71 w# <A HREF="http://www.digital-mines.com"><A HREF="http://www.digital-mines.com</A">http://www.digital-mines.com</A</A>> icq# 13780972 - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
I sometimes forget how frustrating it was being on a dial up connection. The 27k shaved amounts to 10 seconds for someone on a 33.6, so I appreciate the effort. I changed the gif on my pages, thanks for reminding me not everyone has all the bandwidth they need...I always hated slow loading sites when I was using ppp. urs roesch wrote:

Thanks for your help. I have updated the web page, now these buttons are _way_ smaller than before. LenZ ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer S.u.S.E.
