Upgrading via yast if TOO long
i am currently running suse10.0 on a p4, and also suse10.0 on one of my VMs. the VM has 296M of ram and 6 G hard drive. i downloaded 5 cd's from suse for 10.0.42 and upgraded my 10,0 via yast and the cd's. it took over 4 hours which i consider too long. or am i asking too much with that smal of a disk and memory? I installed beta4 on PIII 900 mhz, 256 megs ram, 4200 rpm hd, and pretty slow cd-rom drive too - took 1½-2 hrs. So I don't think you're asking too much - if it were a final/stable that is. Seems to be a lot of people mentioning very slow installs and problems with memory/high swap usage.. guess something isn't working a 100% - might be related to the new package manager I guess..
