Hi, I'm working on a suse 6.4. And I'm trying to configure plip. I have compiled it as a modules in the kernel (as well as lp support, as the plip-homwto says). And whenever I try my test I always make sure that there is no lp module loaded. So, when I do 'insmod plip' I get this: Using /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o: init_module: Device or resource busy And when I do 'modprobe plip' I get: /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o: invalid parameter parm_io /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o failed /lib/modules/2.2.14/net/plip.o: insmod plip failed Simultaneously I get this in /var/log/messages: kernel: plip: parport0 has no IRQ. kernel: plip: no devices registered And I have this lines in /etc/modules.conf options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=none, none options plip io=0x378 irq=7 alias plip0 plip alias plip1 plip And I don't have any /dev/plip0 or /dev/plip1, and I don't even know if this is necessary. So.... please help Thanks -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
