Edit etc/modules.conf and make the respective lines 'invalid' by setting a comment mark (#) at their beginnings. The line could probably read like this: alias char-major-14 es1371 just change it to: # alias char-major-14 es1371 and the card will no longer be used. Then you maybe have settings like: # alias sound off # alias midi off Remove the hash marks in these lines, if you want to go on without sound card. Cheers ...
