Hi, Is there a tool to find duplicated files on a filesystem or path? I could write a script, but if it exists already... :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

I can't make head or tails of it. Documentation is missing in 8.2 (help shows the general kde help only). It has something named rpm, another udg, but I don't see any button to find "duplicated" files. I don't know what udg means, what it is for, what that rpm list does... Fantastic program... utterly useless, it doesn't say what it does, how, what for. :-/ -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

You can always 'play' with the program...

UDG = User Defined Groups - right click on it and the meny says "New UDG" which gives you a dialog to define a file group. The RPM list finds all the installed rpms on your box

Ah, the delight of playing Dylan

i know, I know... I did that.

But I didn't see a way to find duplicated files, which was my original question. Under file criteria, there is a file pattern, and a few more things. But nowhere do I see an option to find duplicated files.

Yeah. But it ***** me to find another package badly packed. I mean, that program is supposed to have a help file - why else would it have help tabs and buttons? Only that somebody forgot to pack them with the rpm. I think I will have to finish my own script for the task. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Carlos, freshmeat is your friend: http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=duplicate§ion=projects&x=11&y=0 Charles -- "On a normal ascii line, the only safe condition to detect is a 'BREAK' - everything else having been assigned functions by Gnu EMACS." (By Tarl Neustaedter)
