I was playing with a USB headset (speakers+micro) this morning - it is being recognised fine, on both Leap422 and older systems. Am I right in thinking audio in+out should be switched over automagically? (which doesn't seem to happen). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.9°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

AFAIK only if pulseaudio is =/> version 1.0. Also the BT headsets have this problem. There (after 1.0) also the BT profiles are changed automagically. Otherwise you have to change the "source" in soundsettings. Maybe 42.3 will do it but I am not sure. Maybe you can ask that on factory, they may know. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On Leap422 I see pulseaudio-9.0-1.2. My other laptop is openSUSE 12.3 and has pulseaudio-3.0-1.10. Should be good?

Surely this isn't a new thing? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.0°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

12.3 - pulseaudio 0.3.0.-1.10 Current pulseaudio 1.1 a believe. It isn't a new thing. I encounter this problem since a whole lot of time. at least since 13.1 And the origin is AFAIK the way pulseaudio is setup in opensuse. One would have to check in TW. Do you have TW? Yes, I see that too. I can't make the headset work at all on Leap422, tried everything. Remarkably, the volume control on the headset works and adjusts the system volume up and down. I just have no audio, no matter what I do. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (14.6°C) http://www.cloudsuisse.com/ - your owncloud, hosted in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That's a new "feature". ;-) I also wonder how things manage to get so broken with updates. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, I sometimes wonder if they are "contributors" payed to do "sabotage" like fixes. If you think about it, for a big player as MS to slow down or to hamper reliability of a remarkable opponent as Linux might be an investment some manager has taken into shortlist. Sometimes it seems more that the people that do coding do not have access to the hardware and as such....do not have the possibility to try but theoretically. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm amazed it hasn't been fixed - surely it's not that uncommon to use a USB headset??

I only have TW on my nanopi and a test-system, not sure if the latter has audio. :-) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.4°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

My headset worked in 13.1. I just checked and it no longer works in 42.2. My headset is listed in pulseaudio v9.0-1.2. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
