[opensuse] laptop w/ Leap 42.2 KDE external display 'scaling'?
Hi All, I finally made the leap to 42.2 via fresh install and migrating my data. Dolphin -> Help -> About -> Version reports: Version 16.08.2 Using: - KDE Frameworks 5.26.0 - Qt 5.6.1 (built against 5.6.1) - The xcb windowing system Everything looks great on the laptop's display, but the pair of external monitors I've attached appear as though (hypothetically) a default laptop scaling factor is also being applied to them. The displays are properly detected -- operating at the correct frequencies and resolutions -- but the elements displayed on them are unusually large. To hazard a guess I'd say almost by a factor of 2x. Is there a global 'zoom' setting somewhere I can adjust for external displays? TIA & regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Configure Desktop/Display and Monitor/Displays/Scale Display/Scale to set scale globally. However, this probably will not suffice if the DPIs of the monitors differ too much, e.g. one is HiDPI and the other not. In this case, check https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HiDPI#Qt_5. The proper way to support such a setup unfortunately implies using Wayland, which supports different DPI for different displays; all other solutions I've tried are either buggy or barely work.
TIA & regards,
