[opensuse] 13.1 Tbird Upgrade 38.3->38.5 (fails to start) GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
All, Wolfgang, This is bizarre. I updated thunderbird 38.3->38.5 (mozilla repo) and when attempting to start 38.5, the crash-dialog appears immediately (and attempting "Restart" just results in yet another crash-dialog). Starting from konsole reveals the following: $ thunderbird (process:16921): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed (thunderbird:16921): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised (thunderbird:16921): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised (thunderbird:16921): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised (thunderbird:16921): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised ACR (Component): component init [calBackendLoader] Using libical backend at /home/david/.thunderbird/2k12pnl0.default/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}/components/libical-manifest Crash reports are: bp-97410418-4e09-4f2a-9ee4-092d42151224.txt bp-f44730e4-7c99-47fe-bd32-3c4b22151224.txt bp-58452d06-781d-4002-b9d2-cdc7e2151224.txt bp-7307d6c5-cf7a-48a7-82e8-27f402151224.txt This may effect all releases. I have the calender (lightning) configured to my groupware calendar. It has worked since lightning was released as a stand-along addon back in the 2.0 days, so I doubt that is the culprit. I need help determining if this is an openSuSE issue or upstream. -- David C. Forgot to add, returning to 38.3, fixed the issue: $ sudo rpm -Uvh --oldpackage /var/cache/zypp/packages/moz/x86_64/MozillaThunderbird-38.3.0-2.2.x86_64.rpm Preparing... ################################# [100%] Updating / installing... 1:MozillaThunderbird-38.3.0-2.2 ################################# [ 50%] Cleaning up / removing... 2:MozillaThunderbird-38.5.0-1.1 ################################# [100%] -- David C. Wierd. Not that it will help you, but I replaced 32 bit 13.1 with 42.1 (64 bit) on this box on Saturday. Subsequently, I got that message trying to run mozilla.org's Firefox ESR 10, which I had had no problem with before. It ultimately turned out that I had installed the original 64 bit ESR 10. With the latest, it works fine. Lots and lots of those GLib-...0' failed messages googling, often pointing to bugs claimed fixed but not, and pointing to little in the way of solutions. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." I'm running 38.4 and, as far as I can tell, it's the latest from the repository. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
