RE: [SLE] NVidia driver for 2.4.19 kernel
Sometimes you can find the sources and rpms included on the CD that came with the card. Jonathan Paul Cowherd Linux and Java Administrator Genscape, Inc. If you have source RPM or tgz files of the latest drivers, you can prolly "rebuild" them... otherwise, wait until 8.1 comes out since it will be based on 2.4.19.
Is there a packaged nVidia driver for a 2.4.19 kernel, or do I have to compile my own? I have the last drivers - checked on apt, YOU and nVidia site and they refuse to work, complaining about being compiled for 2.4.18.
I'm on a 3.6k connection, so I'd like to avoid downloading the kernel sources.
Thanks, but I just realized my mistake. I got scared when I saw in synaptic 188M, but the actual rpm to download is only 34M. So it's gonna take "only" about 3 hours :) . As for the sources, they're available on the nVidia's site. When I was using RedHat I was always "rolling my own" drivers. -- mioriticus "Think of it as evolution in action." -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
