Qt is a C++ compiler
Not at all.
Exactly. Qt does have a form/widget designer gui. Similar to using VB if you will.
Thanks, I had played with that for an hour or so last month. (You gotta have SOMETHING do to at work...) It seemed easy enough to create a simple GUI. However, since I'm learning Java now (www.donutmonster.com) after thirteen years of Visual Basic, I want to wait until that project is finished before I venture into other territory. I'm going to have to look at the licencing, though. I thought it was easier than you state. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

When I want to do anything GUI, I use the sub-classing convention to design forms with designer and code my use of them and / or classes with Visual SlickEdit (<- great IDE BTW). Console apps are simple enough, like the usual "Hello World" example for both C & C++ And even straight g++ apps I will use (include) Qt just for the sake of using thier classes like QString like I use STL. I eat the meat, burn the fat, and make clothes out of the skin. hehhe B-)
