Anyone using a 3com 3C905C-TX-M without problems in SuSE 8.0? I distantly remember there being problems with similar model numbers in the past, but have one of these cards lying fallow. Any joy? Thanks all Fergus

Hi, Yes...joy. I use the same card and it works excellent. I might add I have tried this with other OS's and it has worked as well :-) Regards, Dee

There used to be a problem with the Boomerang chipset (although, I think that was for the 3c905b) some of the 3com's had, but that was fixed with an updated driver in or around kernel 2.2.19 : -----Original Message----- : From: Fergus Wilde [mailto:fwilde@chethams.org.uk] : Sent: Friday, September 13, 2002 8:57 AM : To: suse-linux-e@suse.com : Subject: [SLE] 3C905C-TX-M, any joy? : : : Anyone using a 3com : : 3C905C-TX-M : : without problems in SuSE 8.0? I have two of these cards in my firewall machine. No problems the only Thing I'm noticing is an occasional Time out for about 2 mins that happens about 5 times a day on my internal nic card. This only affects the internal card. I haven't had time to really go back and do thorough testing.
