Does anybody use leafnode as the news server. The machine's disk keeps filling up because there are large number of the binary newsgroups subscribed to (ie. porn). I want to block accesses to that port via use of username and password, but have read that there is no authentication mechanism and no plans for one either in leafnode. Is there something I can run to block port accesses except for a valid user. Thanks, jlm. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

If all the users connect to leafnode from different machines, you can use tcpd to allow access only from specific IPs. See tcpd(8) and hosts_access(5) manual pages. Thanks, I ended up just blocking it off at the firewall.
Ciao, Stefan
