I don't know if this is a bug, feature or fluke. It seems that when I have between 600 and 800 messages in a folder things go wacky. the headers of messages which were stored get trashed, subject is listed as No Subject sender unknown date unknown This is a real problem as far as this list is concerned, there are so many good answers here that I tend to hang on to alot of replies, it doesnt take to long to reach 600 messages. Has anyone else experienced this? suse pro 7.2, kernel 2.4.17, xfree 4.2, kde 2.2.2, kMail 1.3.2 -- dh
That is probably to corrupt index files. Just remove the dotted index files in ~/Mail (e.g. .trash.index) I've mail folders in kmail that store 6000 msgs. On Friday 05 April 2002 21:44, David Herman wrote:

Yeah as other post says, probably fluke.... I currently have 4469 messages in this folder and it works fine. Little slow to open though..... :-) Tom - -- Test-tube babies shouldn't throw stones. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD4DBQE8rga4AEYnIVU7X9IRArZyAJ0X4/LDncRI0g4lgC6HoPscncyTmQCWMhcc OCKzawga3HmyWSk35/Eeng== =S2ye -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I have experienced this when I managed to open more than one kmail at the same time, like if I connect to home computer from work, running X over SSH, when I already have kmail started on home computer. Later versions of kmail seems to make this harder, they detect if kmail is already running. Maybe you just need to update kmail? /Stefan
