Greetings! I tried installing KBear 1.2 and connect to a server. I keep getting "Can not connect to host." I also tried the same with Konqueror and I get the same error message. I can connect to the server using WFTP_Pro on my Windows machine so the problem has to be with my Suse setup. I'm using Suse 8.0. Any ideas? Eric

Anders, Yes, I can ping the server and surf using Konqueror and when I do ftp server I'm asked for my user name and password, which I give then it lets me into the system. When I do a dir, it enters Passive Mode and there we sit :-(( Kind of like the same with Konquerer and KBear. It just sits. Eric On Monday 17 June 2002 15:37, Anders Dahlqvist wrote:

Whoops, I mispoke. After an eternity my files were displayed. On Konq and KBear though it kept saying could not connect to host. ERic On Monday 17 June 2002 16:11, Eric wrote:

sounds like you need to check your firewall settings and add ftp as a service. On Monday 17 June 2002 21:51, Eric wrote:

Bob, Been there done that. I think :-)) I tried starting ftp in inetd but that didn't seem to work either. I don't have a firewall up and running. I'm behind a DSL router/switch. I was able to connect using straight ftp in a console and see my files. I just wonder why Konquerer or KBear can't do the same thing. Eric On Monday 17 June 2002 18:26, Robert wrote:
