I'm used to having /etc/rc.d/rc.local on my systems for doing things which are to be done after all other system init stuff has happened. The nearest I can find in SuSE is /etc/rc.d/boot.local, but this is run *before* the init scripts for a given runlevel. It looks like I will have to create my own script from /etc/rc.d/skeleton and then put it into the rcX.d directories. Is that correct, or am I overlooking an easier way (like just putting one-liners into an rc.local that will be execute if there? Thanks! -Michael

sort of :-) once you write the init script for wat ever you want then you issue insserv scrit name. This way all the links for the various start and stop levels are met. Your best option is to read "man init.d " and man insserv -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea there was an "insserv", nor a man page for init.d. -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions
