<p>Hi, Depends on your definition of free:) If you mean no subscription charges and you are UK based try http://www.uklinux.net . They are, in effect, the people who run Definite Software who do there own distro. They also support ISDN but they don't support the BT Surftime packages so you are stuck with per minute phone charges. -- Stu "The specification said Windows 95 or better, so I installed Linux"

It depends upon what you mean by 'support Linux'... If you mean those ISPs to which you can connect using Linux, then I would say that most ISPs support Linux (all those that I've tried, both free and paid for, work fine with Linux). On the other hand, if you want an ISP that specifically says they'll provide technical support for Linux users with connection problems, then you're more limited in choice. The first names that spring to mind are UKLinux (mentioned previously - shame they don't support surftime, otherwise I'd have continued to use them) and FreeNet (I think) if you live in the UK. Over in the States most of our free providers use either java or windows-based adware programs to finance the service (and thus I suspect it is all but impossible to get Linux to work on them). Does anyone happen to know of a US free internet company that would work with Linux? Depends on where you're at. Here in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, WA) there is an outfit called "NoCharge.com" that simply provides an on-ramp. I use them successfully with Linux. Their deal is that if it doesn't work ya pay $22.50/min at the 900 number for tech support. -----Original Message----- From: Timothy R.
