[opensuse] Audio is "crackling" on only some Flash streams played in Chromium?
I've been poking around trying to resolve an audio issue specific to Chromium on openSUSE. The symptoms... Audio is "crackling" (actually is sounds like an old 8-bit helicopter game) on only some Flash streams. An example of a Flash stream that is showing this behaviour: http://www.desura.com/games/snorms The flash streams on other sites such as YouTube (and others) works fine... this issue only shows up in some places. The same website on Firefox works fine - so I assume it's not a general Flash on openSUSE issue. I do not have Pepper installed in Chromium. Flash version is 11.2.202.275 Chromium is 27.0.1425.0 (185065) I've dug up this bug report: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=224046 but no help. Anyone else having this issue? Ideas? C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.10 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Aha, thanks for confirming it. Now I know it isn't something I did myself with all my tinkering on other things. C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.10 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This might be a wider problem than just Chrome. I stream from SKY.FM with Amarok and I get a helicopter effect when ever Amarok is on a different screen, or I switch screens or launch another program. I just hate messing with any sound settings these days, so I havent taken any steps to diagnose it, but sound is considerably worse in 12.3 than it was in 11.4. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have you tried installing package chromium-pepper-flash from packman and attempt to reproduce the issue again ? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes I have tried it with pepper installed, and the results are identical with or without pepper. C. -- openSUSE 12.3 x86_64, KDE 4.10 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
