My method of replying to posted messages is awkward and inelegant even if it does produce the right result. I choose "reply to all" and then manually delete the original poster from the "To:" line, figuring that the poster is on the list and so will receive a copy anyway but not an extra one. That method also shows the poster's name at the beginning of the quoted message. What I don't like about that is having to do the deletion manually. Is there a more elegant way to get the same result (under Kmail)? Paul Abrahams
While I don't know how to add it to the floating menu, "L" is Reply-to-Mailing-List shortcut key, and a toolbar entry is also available.

Settings->Configure toolbars... In my toolbar I have "New Message to Mailing List" and "Reply to Mailing List"; The first one only works if you're viewing a folder that you associated a mailing list with, in its properties panel.

What I don't like about that is having to do the deletion manually. Is there a more elegant way to get the same result (under Kmail)?
Press L for Reply to List. Notice I'm now using Thunderbird and had to press Reply and then delete your address and manually type the list address in the To: field. I hope the TB developers are on the ball with this. Bryce

... hmmm. i havent used kmail in a while, but with sylpheed-claws, i merely hit the reply button and 'suse-linux-e@suse.com' is automagically placed right there in the 'to' line. it might be that some poster has set 'follow-ups' ????? -- << http://michaeljtobler.homelinux.com/ >> "You can bring any calculator you like to the midterm, as long as it doesn't dim the lights when you turn it on."

There is more... you can add a button and assign it to "Reply to list" function that will look for List-Post headers I think.

Just did it -- and it works perfectly. Thanks. Paul Abrahams
