[opensuse] Maintenance 12.3 heads up: KDE 4.10.2 release via online update
Hi, The KDE and the openSUSE Maintenance team will try something a bit new now ... We will be releasing a KDE Minor version update via the update channel. So currently in preparation is KDE 4.10.2 and unless we find an issue we will release it begin of next week. You can already test it via either the test update channel http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.3-test/ or via its maintenance projects update channel: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Maintenance:/1553/openSU... Ciao, Marcus Hi,
Is there a change log to show what is different between original KDE 4.10.00 and new KDE 4.10.2 ? I am very concerned about this update because I updated yesterday and Grub EFI got messed up and desktop would not boot into OS anymore with "Secure Boot". I've got everything working now again and would be upset if this upcoming KDE update messed things up again. (I am on a mission critical machine) Thanks! This is something we broke due to incorrect EFI signing setup in the maintenance project. The next updates will hopefully work better there.

Well, I hope people use our test repos and report errors if they appear. I personally do, and while I am not using much of KDE, it works. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Then why are you NOT using SLES? It is the release for mission critical machines is it not? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Now that KDE 4 has become very stable for several releases this is welcome news. I suspect most avid users were constantly changing repros to keep up with KDE improvements. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

OK; but now I'm confused. What's the relationship, please, between the regular monthly drop of KDE 4.10.x (the latest being 4.10.2) in <http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra /KDE_Release_410_openSUSE_12.3/> and the one in the new repository above? -- Robin K Wellington "Harbour City" New Zealand -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If KDE SC updates (atm, 4.10.x) will appear in Update repository, then KDE:Extra should change build target from openSUSE_12.3/standard to openSUSE_12.3/update. -- Pozdrawiam / Best regards, Mariusz Fik openSUSE Community Member GPG: 5FCE 7241 B3B9 32FD 455B C30E 42D6 6C88 9E83 7C3D
