Hi. I have compiled a new kernel here. Its on a suse 7.2, where I have updated from 2.2.19 to 2.2.20. Its first time I do it, and it booted ok until the linux prompt arrived. But there were soemthing missing I could see when the system booted. Where can I see the log for what was going on, as it run very fast the boot up :-) Med venlig hilsen / Best regards / Vy 73 de Erik OZ4KK Erik Jakobsen - erik@urbakken.dk SuSE 7.3 - VMware Workstation 3.0 - Windows98SE.

dmesg
/var/log/boot.msg is better. dmesg is updated all the time, and after a lot of, say, dma error messages the boot messages will be flushed out. boot.msg is saved and has a constant log of the latest boot. regards Anders
