So is mine - the floppy drive.
Once I set the flag in LILO and in LOADLIN (I still have to boot that way), the floppy worked fine. I have one of those Thinkpads where you need to remove the floppy to insert the CD drive. Sigh.
I don't think that LILO is handling the Thinkpad disk correctly. Linux runs fine, but I have to boot with loadlin. I tried the linear and compact tags (seperately and together) and still nothing worked. I have a 2.1GB drive, so the geometry is weird.
I have a 5 GB disk, and LILO can boot linux off the last partition (1œ GB of Linux). Problem is only to install it with the floppy. I installed Linux off the CD, but I have a hard time explaining my friend that Linux is superior to NT, when he can't even install it properly as described in the manual.
Hmm, what does your lilo.conf look like? I can't get mine to work no matter what I try. I think I memorized the LILO manual...
You will need the floppy=thinkpad setting or you will not be able to use
I tried that already. No luck.
It must be in the "append" section if I remember correctly. Best, Kyle -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
