I'm missing times New Roman and/or Thorndale in 11.1. I've tried wading through the kilometers of ubuntu newbie stuff on this on google but still can't find out how to do it. I really do need these as my scribus docs don't format properly with any replacement I can find. Please help. Agfa's Thorndale is no longer provided in 11.1. Times New Roman is a M$ font, also not provided (never was). Liberation Serif is what should work. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it's installed but the kerning is wrong. I tried this: ./fetchmsttfonts.sh but got this: times32.exe (http://mesh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/corefonts/times32.exe): Fetching ... done Extracting ... failed ... deleted! Any scribus gurus out there can help me on this one? Love L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I used the same script to get ttf fonts onto my 11.1 system and noticed multiple error messages such as the one you posted Lynn. I don't recall if I got a message like that for times32.exe, but I do have Times New Roman installed now. You might want to check to see if it actually installed despite that message. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

They are proprietary fonts, so you can't get them with any true GNU/Linux distribution. You CAN just copy them over from a Windows system, though. The MS Fonts packge is also available on the Internet. Instead of simply copying them, you can also install them via the fonts installer (can't remember if it's a part of YaST or KDE Control Center, probably the latter). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
