probably because no one makes Linux only keyboards .. and MS makes hardware ( not always the best but the cheapest .. and you get what you expect, disposable hardware ) However there is a place that does make keyboards aims at LINUX users it's called the Happy Hacker company .. they make really small footprint keyboards w/o all the extra junque on em.. I don't need a "coffee break " key that only invokes a screen saver.. nevermind the extra stuff loaded on em... just more stuff to break anyway .. keys for typing , number keypad, the usual Fn keys, and some of the other keyboard stuff can go away very nicely please ... well, perhaps if they found a way to hook up and ice dispenser and a pepsi .. well I might be interested in that.. but , of course that likely means , never getting off the keyboard ... bad for the general well being , I suspect.. looking at a CRT , or LCD or whatever isn't all that good for the health.. <G> -- j Afterthought : Nothing in the known universe travels faster than a bad check.

I am not so sure about that, I think the hardware will last longer then it takes for the M$ OS to crash. -- Frits Wüthrich Pentaxianado
