[opensuse] KDE4 repositories - changes?
Note: I'm running 12.3 x86_64 Hi All, Today I started seeing this error:
File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/KDE_Release_411_openSUS...'
I'm now unclear about what's going on after reading this page: https://en.opensuse.org/KDE_repositories The KDE repositories that I have configured are as follwos: KDE 4.11.2 for openSUSE 12.3 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/411/openSUSE_12.3/ KDE4 Extra http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/KDE_Release_411_openSUS... Is the problem simply that some mirrors are down or have I run into a 'dead end' and I need to revise my repositories? For the last couple of days I've been able to reach http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Release:/ OK; but none of the KDE version directories below that is accessible (well, they are accessible, but show no content). -- Robin K Wellington "Harbour City" New Zealand -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Addendum: I removed the no longer available repositories and added the two new ones, as indicated at the top of that thread -- replacing '13.1' with '12.3', of course. The recommended zypper dup --from pulled up a long list of conflicts resolvable only by downgrading lots of packages, so I canceled that action and followed the hint that someone posted there saying, in effect, installing just the regularly detected updates picks up the later version packages without touching anything else -- nothing is downgraded. In fact, shortly after updating the repositories, Apper reported a modest batch of updates was available. After I clicked 'Apply', there were no apparent conflicts and the updates installed without a problem. YMMV, of course, and hth! Hi Carl, You should fix your repos for KDE. There is no KDE:Release repo anymore. There are 1) supported and tested core KDE packages provided with the distribution with same Plasma desktop; 2) the KDE_Current (and latest) version of the KDE Software Compilation; 3) Factory, KDE packages under development for the upcoming openSUSE release. https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories#Current_KDE_SC_release If you were using 4.11 you may wish using the second one KDE_Current to keep all your packages up to date. http://www.dennogumi.org/2014/03/being-current/ Regards, R. Thank you for your input, Ricardo. I've been short on time for the past year so my grasp on the details has suffered. I /am/ running 4.11(.5) so thank you also for sharing your thoughts and the link. I'll set aside some time here soon to get caught up. I very much appreciate your reply!
