Hi, I am supposed to be developing a snapshot driver for Linux for backing up volumes. Is there an open source project or code base from where I can start my development? Regards, Manu. The most obvious idea that I can see would be to look at the snapshot code in XFS and see how they do it

I'm familiar with xfs_freeze, but I'm not familiar with XFS having any true snapshot code. I would think anything generic could go into the vfs layer. Also, I think DM has this generic function already for the 2.6 kernel. Greg -- Greg Freemyer
