[SLE] why can't i view files from windows...can't download alsa - linux
hi all do anyone knows why i can't view files saved in windows? i've downloaded the alsa-driver-0.5.9b.tar.bz2 from alsa web site (using windows 98) then i copy it into a floppy disk, when i try to browse my floppy in linux 6.4(kernel2.2.14), i can't see that particular file! -i've changed the properties in windows to read-only; even text files saved in windows/linux can't be viewed from the other os. n.b. i can't seem to be able to download the alsa driver from it's website...it'll just display the code in netscape: ftp://www.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-0.5.9b.tar.bz2 have anyone done the download successfully? omeone pls help! thanks in advance for your help. tk ===== 0Oo~~:o) Smile! Are you mounting the floppy as vfat? mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /floppy

Hold down the shift key when you click on the file link

You probably have an app assigned to the extension, that's why it 'downloads' it to the screen.
