Hi; I had a slightly scary time with upgrading my kernel. First I tried updating to 2.4.7. Everything seemed to go well (no error messages), but after a reboot the system froze at LIL-. After a boot disk to get back into my system, I upgraded to 2.4.10 and everything works fine (so far)! Does anyone know what's up with 2.4.7? (I run SuSE 7.2) -- ------------ Darren Harmon http://users.breathemail.net/darren.harmon1/

Did you reember to run lilo ? fROm the lilo readme LIL- The descriptor table is corrupt. This can either be caused by a geometry mismatch or by moving /boot/map without running the map installer. Yes, I installed the kernel, ran mk_initrd and then ran LILO, with no error messages. -- ------------ Darren Harmon http://users.breathemail.net/darren.harmon1/
