Which notebook are you using? ThinkPad? You should have a bios setting that will bring the machine up in a default screen config (hardware) of External, LCD, or Both... or maybe Auto. There is usually a blue Fn button that in combination with one of the function keys toggles the video output from Both, LCD, External, in a ring fashion. Also, in your bios, you may want to set screen blanking to "off". Also, experiment with turning APM and/or any power related timer functions "off". Sometimes the hardware (without its M$ big brother installed) gets confused and doesn't work properly. This may be biting you. -- Kind regards, M Harris <><

File a bug report. This probably is an incompatibility in the NVidia driver. I just heard of the same issue with a 6100 Go. What graphics hardware does this laptop have? So it *is* working with Mandrake? That is a vital information. Did you test the nv driver? That one won't work on the external interface (until you boot with a monitor attached), but the information is vital. Did you use the binary only driver with Mandrake as well, or the nv driver?
