Hiya! In S.u.S.E. Linux 5.1, it seem that you will not get the nice info included in .rpm files before you already have installed them. All you get is their version-number. I honestly think this should be expanded to be so close to the actual installation of the system (Description next to it, more below, even more with F2 + file listing). Or at least the F2 option? If you 'less' the file you can see the info, equally so using Midnight Commander, so it should be possible, maybe even trivial, to include. Of course it may already be in S.u.S.E. Linux 5.2. If so, then great! -- --- e-mail: martin_moeller@technologist.com - an iName service for life(?) It's in 5.1 too.. :) Try 'rpm -qpi <file>' to get the summary information or 'rpm -qps <file>' to get the file list. I'll guess, we'll ship GNOME with »S.u.S.E. Linux« 6.0, (late?) this summer -- if nothing strange will happen. The 6.0 will be glibc2 based. AFAIK we no longer allowed to put Staroffice on our CDs. We've done this in the past, but then Caldere got the execlusive right to do this by Star Division. I believe that you need to have imake installed... it works a little differantly than make... Also make sure that you have you Makefile configured correctly for linux... I compiled on a HP700 and I had to go in and change some of the config's for that particular setup (even though it said the HP options have be implemented... etc...) Good Luck... Don't be alarmed. Intel changed the codec on newer avi's and they are not supported by xanim. It's about 50/50 whether an avi will run on xanim or not. He will probably address that in the next release. Brian wrote:

Try 'rpm -qpi <file>' to get the summary information or 'rpm -qps <file>' to get the file list. Thanks. I just don't see this option when, for instance, I try to install an rpm-package from, say, /tmp using YaST, which is what I want, so it is totally reminiscent of the actual OS install.
