[opensuse] Which Firefox/SeaMonkey tabs are using CPU cycles?
OpenSUSE-13.1 Anyone know how to determine which Firefox/SeaMonkey tabs are using up the most CPU cycles? I frequently have the case where I have many browser windows open, each with many tabs, and the browser is pegging the CPU usage to 100% on at least one CPU core and the browser becomes very sluggish. Often I am able to manually look thru the displayed pages and find the CPU hog and kill it, returning things to a more normal state. However, rather often I have not been able to do so given time and work constraints. I have found quite a bit of diagnostic info in the various Mozilla about:* pages, but nothing WRT CPU usage. Also, since it runs in a single process, ps/top/etc do not help here either? Any ideas? Look for one running video ads. That's what I find most often. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Ditto.

I usually close the tabs with flash animations, that helps 9 times out of 10. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (9.6°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

+10 on that :-0 Ebay is one particular culprit in that area. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-data/ is supposed to be useful identifying offenders. I tried adapting it to SeaMonkey, which accepted it, but does nothing useful that I've been able to detect. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
