I setup a 2.2.19 kernel with ext3 patch. i created a initrd image for the kernel. When I boot everything seems to work but after mounting the root partition with ext3 as readonly, successfully mind you, it tells me FATAL: kernel too old Has anyone succeded in getting any 2.2 kernel version to work on the SuSE8.x systems? thanks

New subject: [SLE] installing 2.2 kernel on 8.1 sys? INIT error
we use a pcmcia CAN card and the drivers we've found only work on 2.2 kernels (and crash 2.4 systems when you load the card). H du Plooy wrote:

No clue but I'm curious, why do you want to do this?
