If you have 6 disks then presumably you have the full version, which should have come with documentation. Briefly, what you do is: 1) Boot into Linux (using the supplied Boot Disk or the First CDRom) 2) Follow the instructions once Yast starts. I see your hard disk is only 3 Gigabyte. This is rather little for both Windows and Linux. Perhaps you should install a new hard disk for use with Linux. You should NOT give up Windows until you are happy with Linux. Suse 6.1 is now rather "oldish". Current version is 6.3, with 6.4 to come out soon. Each new release has been more trouble-free, supports more hardware, and comes with more useful programmes. Perhaps you should delay installing Linux till you get the most recent version? cll -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hello, Partition Magic will make things a lot easier for you. But is not necessary, so don't run out and plunk down another $90 for it if you don't have it. Buying another harddrive is a good idea too. With 1 Gig you can install Netscape, Star Office, and a few other goodies. But more is better. I think SuSE 6.1 has Star Office 5.0 and as of SuSE 6.2 Star Office 5.1 was released. Good luck, George Fri, 18 Feb 2000, ÷Ù ÎÁÐÉÓÁÌÉ:

Exactly! Find someone who already has it and ask him/her nicely if you can borrow it. But that's illegal! :-) I have to wonder how many others installed Linux to rid themselves of that annoying "This copy of Windows 95 is registered to Bill Gates" message on bootup. OK, so it wasn't Bill Gates, but it wasn't Ed Craig either.

Yeah, well, that stuff is expensive!

Well, I for sure never bothered reading those messages and one of the first things I do when I get my hands on a PC running window$ is to edit msdos.sys (via Linux) so the splash screens don't show up! -- Yatsen Ng yatsen.ng@brunel.nl Den Haag, The Netherlands It said "Needs Windows 95 or better".
