Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Apache on SuSE
Well, certainly a lot :)) A very neat feature that comes with Apache is "virtual hosts", which gives you the possibility to change the site root depending on the name (or the IP) used to access the server... a) put CNAME's in the DNS server e.g. CNAME www venus CNAME linux venus b) configure Apache properly (take a look at "virtual") c) when the server is contacted through www.your.domain.org it'll point to /usr/local/httpd/htdocs/www linux.your.domain.org it'll point to /usr/local/httpd/htdocs/linux this being just an example, of course... what's a "ballpark" ? :( Pascal /nick SuSE52 on #linux (IRCnet) root on www.student.prov-liege.be -----Original Message----- From: Michael Clark <mclark@datsrvr.datsit.com> To: suse-linux-e <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: jeudi 14 mai 1998 01:47 Subject: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Apache on SuSE
Just out of curiosity, how many web sites could be hosted on a single box?
I have a pentiumII 233 with 64Mb RAM and will be connected to a T3.
Even a ballpark figure would be great, real figures even better.
