Hum. They wanted to renumber because it was a new series. And the number 42 is kind of "magic" in some geek culture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrases_from_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_G...
2) why this latest release can not booting in Live mode!?
I'm unsure of that one. Apparently it did not work well. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

The answer to life, the universe and everything - 42. Nothing geek about that, very mainstream. It was totally unknown to me till explained. It appears to be only well known by English speakers. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy has been translated to more than 30 languages. I assume 42 was not translated :-) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.6°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, it has, but it is not that popular on other countries. For instance, the page I mentioned before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrases_from_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_G... has not been translated to any language, except one far east. The guide to the galaxy is supposed to be an humour book, but humour translates badly. Specifically, British humour is widely known as impossible to understand in my country. Of my circle of friends, only one knew about 42. And that one knows about everything, so he doesn't count :-P -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

And don't forget: what was the first ever version of S.u.S.E. linux again? Right: "4.2". -dnh -- "`Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.'" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, there is Argon. <quote src="https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories"> The live media comes in two shapes. It's based on SUSE's code base, which we wanted to reflect in the version number: SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 + Service pack 1 = Leap 42.2 ditto with Service Pack 2 = Leap 42.2 SLE 13 = Leap 43(.0)
2) why this latest release can not booting in Live mode!?
Because 1. Creating them requires resources ( both human and computer ) 2. People can do so themselves using SUSE Studio
